Watan-As you can see, our morale is always victorious,” said an elderly Palestinian amidst the rubble of his demolished home in Gaza, a result of the continuous bombardment by the occupying forces.

Palestinian journalist Mariam Abu Daqqa captured a video of the elderly Palestinian sitting on the debris of his destroyed home due to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. In the video, he expressed, “Thank God… as you can see, our morale is, God willing, towards victory.

He continued, ‘This house you see has been destroyed four times. Every war, it has to be destroyed. But nothing has shaken us. While they destroy, we rebuild, and we will not abandon this land.”

Families in the southern Gaza Strip inspected their homes as thousands returned with the initiation of the humanitarian ceasefire brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. The ceasefire, lasting for four days and subject to extension, began on Friday morning.”

The Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza

Within the terms of the humanitarian ceasefire agreement, Israeli authorities released 39 prisoners as a first batch on Friday, out of a total of 150 who are set to be released in the next three days. Simultaneously, Palestinian resistance released 24 Israeli prisoners as a first batch, out of a total of 50 who will be released later.

Trucks carrying essential humanitarian aid for the residents of the Gaza Strip entered at a rate of 200 trucks per day during the temporary ceasefire. This comes after the blockade imposed by the occupation at the start of the Israeli war on the Strip on October 7th last year. The aid includes flour, food supplies, fuel, and more.

More than 15,000 Palestinian civilians lost their lives in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, with over 40,000 others sustaining various injuries, according to a report from the Gaza government’s media office.
