Son of Former Israeli Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, Gal Meir Eisenkot, Killed in Gaza

Watan-In another powerful strike targeting the Israeli entity, the occupation army announced on Thursday the killing of Gal Meir Eisenkot, the son of Gadi Eisenkot, the former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army and a member of the War Council, in battles with the resistance in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army stated in a press release that “Sergeant First Class (Reserve) Gal Meir Eisenkot, 25, from Hurlitzia, a combat soldier in Battalion 699 of Reserve Commando Brigade 551, was killed in a battle in the northern Gaza Strip.

The newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that the force, including Sergeant Reserve Gal Meir Eisenkot, approached a tunnel opening when a powerful explosion occurred, revealing that the tunnel entrance was rigged with explosives. Gal sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Assuta Hospital in Ashdod, where his death was later announced.

The newspaper added, “Eisenkot, the father, witnessed the incident live on air while he was at the front base of Brigade 162, and a few minutes later, he was informed that his son was one of the seriously injured in the incident.”

Eisenkot’s son, Gal Meir Eisenkot, served as both a medic and an infantry soldier

According to the source, Sergeant Gal Meir Eisenkot, 25 years old from Hertzliya, served as a medic and infantry soldier in Battalion 699, within the 551st Reserve Brigade of the Israeli army.

His father, Gadi Eisenkot, joined the War Cabinet as a minister without portfolio following the Hamas attack on October 7. He attended War Cabinet meetings and is a member of the Unity Party, led by Benny Gantz. Gadi was elected to the Knesset in 2022.

In addition, the Israeli army announced on Thursday the death of an officer and the injury of 3 soldiers in the battles in Gaza, raising the total number of Israeli soldier casualties to 92. This officially brings the announced toll of Israeli army casualties to 12 within 3 days.

In the past two days, the occupation army declared the death of 10 of its members, including officers.

On a daily basis, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announce the killing of Israeli soldiers and the destruction of military vehicles in various combat zones, confirming that the losses incurred by the occupation are much greater than officially reported.
