Nephew of Former Israeli Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, Maor Cohen, Falls in Gaza Battles

Watan-In the aftermath of the recent killing of the youngest son of former Israeli Chief of Staff and War Council member Gadi Eisenkot during the ongoing conflicts in northern Gaza, tragedy has struck once more as Maor Cohen, the nephew of Eisenkot, has also lost his life.

Details emerging from Israeli media report that Maor Cohen, the nephew of Gadi Eisenkot, was killed in the intense battles with Palestinian resistance forces in the Gaza Strip.

Hebrew media reported that Maor Meir Cohen, a soldier in regular service, was killed during the battles in Gaza. He is the son of Sharon Eisenkot, the sister of Gadi Eisenkot.

Israeli sources have not yet disclosed the circumstances surrounding Maor Meir Cohen’s death.

Gal Eisenkot, an infantry soldier in Reserve Brigade 551, was killed during a search operation with his comrades on the outskirts of Jabalia camp when a large explosive device detonated. Gal suffered severe injuries and was transported to Asuta Hospital in Ashdod, where his death was later announced.

Hebrew media revealed that Eisenkot, the father, witnessed the incident live on air while at the frontline of Brigade 162. After a few minutes, he was informed that one of the seriously injured in the incident was his son.

Netanyahu Participates in Gal Eisenkot’s Funeral

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu participated on Friday in the funeral ceremony for Gal Eisenkot. Images and videos that circulated on Friday showed Eisenkot breaking down in tears at his son’s funeral at the “Pensacola” cemetery in Herzliya, with Netanyahu appearing to console him.

Gal, the youngest son of Gadi Eisenkot, joined the Thirteenth Fleet and worked as a paramedic in Maglan. He was conscripted into Reserve Brigade 699, part of Brigade 551, and was associated with Division 162.
