Watan-Palestinian media outlets released a press statement on Friday from the imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan Al-Barghouti. In the statement, he addresses the residents of the West Bank and Fatah movement cadres, urging them to rise up against the occupation in a comprehensive confrontation and not to be mere witnesses but active soldiers in this crucial battle.
Marwan Al-Barghouti, who has been held in Israeli prisons since his arrest in 2002, called on Fatah movement cadres and Palestinians in the West Bank in the statement sent from behind bars to stand up against the oppressive occupation, expressing support for the resistance that is making heroic efforts in the Gaza Strip against the occupiers.
Marwan Al-Barghouti: No Excuses
In a recent statement addressed to the Palestinians in the West Bank, Marwan Al-Barghouti, a prominent Palestinian leader currently incarcerated, emphasized the escalating winds of liberation in the skies of Palestine. He urged the people of the West Bank not to be mere witnesses but active soldiers in the face of the comprehensive confrontation against the oppressive occupation.
Addressing the Fatah movement cadres to which he belongs, Al-Barghouti stated, “Our great Palestinian people, our people in the West Bank, the winds of liberation are rising in the sky of Palestine. The blood of our people in Gaza has been flowing for more than two months, alongside the daily shedding of blood in the West Bank by the criminal occupation. Do not be mere witnesses but active soldiers in this crucial battle.”
Speaking to the giant workforce of the Fatah movement, he called for unity and action, stating, “Our historic Palestine, which has witnessed resilience and resistance, is today facing unprecedented massacres at the hands of the criminal occupation and its settlers, with unlimited support from the United States and the West. In the face of this tragic event, we are obligated, people of the West Bank, to stand united to defend and attack with all the strength, capabilities, and tools available to deter the occupation and break its will.”
Al-Barghouti emphasized that the current war spares no one, urging unified action as a single force to make a difference in the decisive battle for the history of the Palestinian people. He added, “Let the memory of the first intifada on December eighth be a turning point and the beginning of an escalating confrontation with the Israeli enemy, everywhere expected and unexpected, utilizing the available tools and resources, whether small or significant.”
In his statement published by the “Quds Press” agency, Al-Barghouti called for complete support for the option of comprehensive resistance and its activation in all occupied Palestinian territories to repel the aggressive attacks on the people, land, and rights, defending the liberated women who are subjected to the occupation’s aggression.
Marwan Al-Barghouti also called on the security apparatus of the Palestinian Authority to take the lead in confronting the Israeli aggression that spills Palestinian blood in every city and village, using the weapons and training they possess in their respective positions. He emphasized, “There is no excuse for anyone not to participate in a phase of the liberation battle. Therefore, we appeal to your patriotism, O honorable ones, to fulfill your duty and defend your land, honor, and people.”
The Time of Waiting Has Passed
Marwan Al-Barghouti continued in his statement, saying, “The time of waiting has passed, and now is the time for resilience, confrontation, and liberation. Let us turn every Palestinian home into a stronghold of the revolution, and let every individual become a soldier on the battlefield. Let us unite and show the whole world that we are an unbreakable force in this extended and heroic battle shaped by the resistance, inaugurating a new phase in the history of our people and in the record of our nation.”
The imprisoned Marwan Al-Barghouti concluded his statement by stating, “The blood of our children, women, elders, and our heroic resistance fighters will pave the way to freedom, return, and independence. Peoples do not liberate themselves except through sacrifices, and independence is not achieved except through struggle, resistance, and sacrifice.”
On Friday, the occupation intensified its bombardment of residential areas in the besieged Gaza Strip, committing new massacres where dozens were martyred in Rafah, Khan Yunis, Gaza City, and Jabalia.
The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed that the total toll of the Israeli aggression has exceeded 17,000 martyrs, with the number of injured rising to 46,000.
