In the Wake of Israeli Occupation Tactics, Bashar al-Assad’s Brutal Campaign Leaves Idlib in Despair
Idlib Bombing

Watan-In the footsteps of Israeli occupation, Bashar al-Assad continues his military campaign to exterminate Syrians residing in the northwestern regions of the country, claiming several victims, including martyrs and the wounded, in the province of Idlib and its countryside.

“The city of Idlib is shrouded in sorrow, overwhelmed by death that has spared it no mercy, following missile attacks by regime forces targeting its residential neighborhoods, markets, and vital areas,” according to a statement from the Syrian Civil Defense.

The White Helmets organization stated that the regime’s brutal shelling resulted in 4 civilian casualties, including two children and a woman, and left 33 civilians injured, including 5 children and a woman, in a preliminary toll.”

Life in all its forms is being extinguished

The Civil Defense confirmed that these attacks not only target the lives of civilians but aim to kill life in all its manifestations.

The missile bombardment by Syrian regime forces has reached residential areas in the city of Saraqib, east of Idlib, and its outskirts.

The regime’s shelling operations resulted in a child being injured and a fire breaking out in a residential house in the market area of Saraqib in eastern Idlib countryside.”

Recurring massacres by the Syrian regime and its allies

The Civil Defense states that the ongoing shelling operations constitute unimaginable atrocities in killing and terrorizing children in their schools. A heinous crime prohibited by all international laws occurred when regime forces targeted the ‘Martyrs’ Elementary School in the village of Afs, east of Idlib, with artillery just days ago.

Syrian journalist Qutaiba Yassin commented on these massacres with a tweet, writing: ‘Now… a massacre committed by Bashar al-Assad’s army in the city of Idlib. We are confused in massacres; we no longer know if this massacre is in Idlib or in Gaza, if it’s the shelling of the Assad occupation or the Israeli occupation.’

The toll of attacks by Assad’s forces and his allies (Russia and Iranian militias) on civilians in northwestern Syria during November 2023 exceeded 100, resulting in the death of 15 civilians, including 8 children and 2 women, and injuring 57 others, including 14 children and 5 women.

In a policy that prevents civilians from accessing their homes and lands, depriving them of stability, harvesting, and planting their winter crops, the regime carried out 79 attacks with artillery shelling, 7 air raids, and 5 attacks with guided missiles. This information was disclosed by the Civil Defense.

On November 25, the Syrian regime committed a horrifying massacre that claimed the lives of 10 civilians, including 7 children and a woman, as a result of artillery shelling while they were harvesting olives in the farms of the village of Qoqfin, south of Idlib.
