The 24-year-old shooter was killed inside the university building, as clarified by Reuters. The police indicated that he ‘may have committed suicide or was killed by his own bullets.
Czech media quoted the police as saying that the attacker, who had a licensed rifle and no criminal record, was a student at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University. It was noted that he had killed his father at a residence outside the capital before coming to the city.
According to the reflex website, the police received information about his intention to commit suicide and were searching for him in another building at the university where he was supposed to attend a lecture.
However, instead of going there, the shooter headed to the main building of the Faculty of Arts, which is not far from a tourist attraction.
