Unveiling Mohammed Ad-Daif: The Controversy Surrounding the Video Israel Claims to Have Found

Watan-The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported on Friday new information about the video clip that the Israeli occupation army claimed to have obtained, showing Mohammed Ad-Daif, the overall commander of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement.

The broadcasting authority mentioned that Mohammed Ad-Daif appeared at a high level and in a different manner than the available pictures of him for the past decade. It added that the footage presented to the Israeli “Shin Bet” agency showed Ad-Daif entering his office in Jabalia. According to Israeli claims, in the video, Ad-Daif appeared in an active position.

A copy of Mohammed Ad-Daif’s identification card was claimed by everyone to have been found at the house of the sister of the Qassam leader.

Israel had been promoting the narrative that Ad-Daif had lost both his legs and was unable to move his hands, requiring a wheelchair for mobility. However, the information revealed a different reality.

On the other hand, the Hebrew channel “Kan” published a copy of Mohammed Ad-Daif’s identification card at his sister’s house in Khan Yunis, indicating that it was found by soldiers from the 82nd Battalion of the Seventh Brigade.

“Kan” added that the video shows Mohammed Ad-Daif accompanied by guards, sitting behind a well-equipped desk.

Mohammed Ad-Daif is not paralyzed

Two days ago, the Hebrew newspaper “Maariv” published a report revealing new details about the overall commander of the Qassam Brigades.

The newspaper stated in its article: “Another failure for intelligence stars? After years of uncertainty about the health status of the Hamas leader in Gaza, the Israeli army released video clips showing Mohammed Ad-Daif walking on his own two feet, and his condition is much better than estimated in Israel.”

Israeli journalist Ben Caspit for “Maariv” mentioned that the new information obtained by the Israeli army indicates that Mohammed Ad-Daif is in very good health and walks on his own two feet. There is evidence suggesting that he does not suffer from any health problems or paralysis, contrary to previous estimates by Israeli intelligence.

The newspaper added: “After the Israeli army released a video of the brother of Sinwar, Mohammed Sinwar, moving through Gaza’s tunnels, it is now apparent that Ad-Daif, who has been pursued by Israel for years, is in good health.”

It explained that as part of the intelligence gathering operation in the Gaza Strip, Israel found several video clips in which Ad-Daif appeared safe and well.

In one of the video clips, Ad-Daif was seen walking on his own two feet with a slight limp.

The video clips indicate that Ad-Daif’s condition is much better than estimated in Israel. He can walk independently without using a wheelchair, and perhaps he can also use both of his hands.

Ad-Daif has survived seven assassination attempts over the past years.
