Resilience Amidst Rubble: An Elderly Palestinian’s Defiant Message from Gaza
A Message of Resilience from an Elderly Palestinian in Gaza

Watan-An Elderly Palestinian from Gaza Sends a Message of Resilience and Defiance from within the scattered refugee camps in the southern Gaza Strip, amidst the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing war on Gaza for the 78th consecutive day.

In a video captured by Palestinian activist Alaa Hamouda, the elderly Palestinian says, ‘We will remain on our land, and our tents are present in our homeland until Judgment Day.’

We will remain resilient on our land until Judgment Day

And, God willing, if we don’t reclaim it, our younger generations will reclaim it, by the permission of Allah.

The Palestinian activists had earlier captured a video of the same elderly Palestinian sitting amidst the rubble of his destroyed home in the northern Gaza Strip. In the video, he talks about the loss of his three children due to the Israeli occupation’s shelling of the house, which has now turned into a pile of rubble.

War on Gaza

Approximately 1.8 million Palestinians were forcibly displaced from the northern areas and the city of Gaza towards the central and southern parts of the Gaza Strip due to the intense and indiscriminate airstrikes by Israeli forces. These airstrikes targeted residential neighborhoods, homes, schools, mosques, and churches without prior warning to the inhabitants.

According to statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the toll of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of more than 20,000 Palestinian martyrs, the majority of whom were civilians, including children and women. Additionally, over 53,000 people have been injured with various wounds. Thousands are still missing under the rubble to this moment.
