Watan-Nagam Abu Samra, a 24-year-old Palestinian karate athlete, had her dreams shattered by the Israeli occupation when her leg was amputated in the bombing of her family’s home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the heart of the Gaza Strip.
This twenty-year-old girl, Nagam Abu Samra, continues to suffer after her family’s home was targeted during the Israeli occupation’s most intense war in the history of the conflict in Gaza. She sustained a serious head injury and, in addition, lost her leg.
The karate player, Abu Samra, remains in the intensive care unit due to the severity of her health condition, having been injured in the head and having her leg amputated, inside Nasser Medical Center in central Gaza.
“Who will restore her dream?”
The father of Nagam, the Palestinian karate champion whose dream in the sport was shattered by the Israeli occupation after her leg was amputated, says, ‘I appeal to sports enthusiasts, sports federations, and the leaders of neighboring countries who care for the Palestinian people to expedite the transfer of my daughter Nogoom for treatment abroad.’
He continues, ‘For my daughter Nagam, she was the most beautiful karate player in the whole world. That’s why I hope that the sweetness Nogoom possessed returns to her, and she can regain her spirit and resume her athletic activity after the injustice that befell her.

“I can’t bear to see my daughter Nogoom in this condition,” added the father
“The most important thing is that, beyond being a father of three, I cannot bear to see my daughter Nogoom in this situation every day. I simply cannot bear it. I hope that every person can help me in getting my daughter out for treatment abroad.”
Dozens of stars in various fields of Palestinian sports have risen as martyrs in the continuous Israeli bombardment during its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that the toll of the Israeli war on Gaza has exceeded 20,000 Palestinian martyrs, the majority of whom are civilians, and more than 54,000 others have been injured with various injuries, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health as of the writing of this news.
