Watan-The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, intends to form a special team in his office to study the possibility of systematically displacing tens of thousands of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in coordination with Western countries willing to receive them.

This was revealed by Dani Danon, a member of the Likud party in the Knesset (Parliament), who made the announcement.

The Israeli newspaper “Israel Hayom” disclosed that Netanyahu is working towards achieving voluntary relocation of Gaza residents to other countries.

The newspaper reported that Netanyahu made statements on this matter in response to Likud party member Dani Danon, a member of the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee in the Israeli Knesset, during a meeting held by the party bloc led by Netanyahu.

Netanyahu stated during the meeting: “Our problem is the countries willing to absorb the refugees, and we are working to solve it.”

Discussions on Netanyahu’s Proposal

In turn, Dani Danon stated, “The world is already discussing this matter; the Canadian Minister of Immigration spoke openly about these issues, as did Nikki Haley (a potential Republican candidate for the U.S. presidency).”

Danon proposed, “Forming a team in Israel to address this issue and ensure that anyone who wants to leave Gaza for a third country can do so,” according to him.

He explained that this should be organized due to its strategic importance for the day after the war, according to him.

According to the newspaper, Netanyahu responded to Danon, saying, “We are working on it.”

Previous Proposals

In November of last year, Danon published an article in the American newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” in collaboration with Ram Ben Barak, a member of the Yesh Atid party. In the article, they called for the “voluntary evacuation of Arabs from Gaza to countries around the world.”

They wrote that “international organizations can play a central role in transferring Gaza residents who wish to do so to countries that agree to receive them.”

Ben Barak also stated in an interview with Israeli Channel 12 in the same month: “If all the residents of Gaza are refugees, let’s distribute them worldwide. There are 2.5 million people. Each country among 100 countries can accommodate 20,000 people.”

Suspicious Canadian Program

Recently, the Canadian Minister of Immigration, Marco Mendicino, announced that his country would launch a migration program starting from January. Widely described as dubious, this program allows residents of the Gaza Strip with Canadian relatives to apply for a temporary visa.

The minister told journalists that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government would grant a temporary residence permit for three years to anyone wishing to leave the Gaza Strip and having a family relationship with a Canadian citizen, whether they are relatives by blood, extended family, or spouses.
