Watan-The Israeli-Gaza war has been marked by a series of conflicts and escalations between Israel and Palestinian groups, particularly in the Gaza Strip. The conflicts have deep historical and political roots, primarily revolving around issues such as territory, refugees, and the status of Jerusalem.

One of the major and more recent military engagements occurred in 2021, where tensions escalated, leading to an 11-day conflict in May. The conflict involved intense airstrikes by Israel on Gaza and rocket attacks launched by Palestinian militant groups, primarily Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The situation resulted in a significant loss of life, destruction of infrastructure, and displacement of civilians in Gaza.

The Israeli-Gaza war is part of the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has been ongoing for decades, characterized by complex geopolitical, historical, and religious factors. Efforts to achieve a lasting peace and address the underlying issues continue to be challenging. International organizations and diplomatic efforts play a crucial role in seeking resolutions and promoting dialogue between the involved parties.

And Al-Qassam invoked the story of Yonatan, nearly 50 years after his death at the hands of Palestinian resistance gunfire, to connect the past to the present within the framework of psychological warfare against the Israeli occupation’s public. This is an indication that Benjamin Netanyahu is going through a phase of psychological disorders, which is reflected in his management of the prisoner file specifically.

Yonatan, born in 1946, was a senior officer in the Israeli army and was killed in 1976 by Palestinian resistance during an operation to release hostages on a hijacked plane in Entebbe, Uganda. This event left a negative impact on the family.

Since October 7th of the past year, the Israeli army has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip, with support from the United States and Europe. The text describes Israeli airstrikes targeting hospitals, buildings, towers, and civilian homes in Gaza, causing destruction over the heads of its inhabitants. Additionally, it mentions the prevention of access to water, food, medicine, and fuel. The aggression has resulted in the death of several prisoners, either through Israeli airstrikes or failed operations by the occupying forces attempting to free them.

Israeli forces killed their prisoners in Gaza

Last December, Al-Qassam Brigades released a video featuring three Israeli captives in Gaza urging their leaders not to abandon them in captivity. One of the Israeli captives, named Hayim Pri (79 years old), from Kibbutz Nir Oz, mentioned that he and a group of elderly individuals suffering from chronic illnesses were in captivity, enduring extremely harsh conditions.

It is believed that the mentioned captives were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip. Protests escalated in Tel Aviv, demanding the necessity of a new exchange deal, especially after the killing of three Israeli captives in Gaza by the occupying forces. This incident triggered widespread anger and increased pressure on the extremist Netanyahu government.
