Emotional Revelation: Wael Al-Dahdouh Receives Glad Tidings, Weeps as Positive Vision of Prophet Muhammad Unfolds in Al Jazeera Video
Wael El-Dahdouh

Watan-Activists shared a video showing the Palestinian journalist Wael al-Dahdouh in tears after a call with a Kurdish man who conveyed a dream in which a righteous man described as having seen the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him), and said to him, “Give glad tidings to Wael al-Dahdouh.”

The footage revealed the significant emotional impact on the Palestinian journalist, Dahdouh, who has become an icon of resilience and patience. He cried upon hearing this and repeated, “O my beloved, O Messenger of Allah.”

The man speaking from Iraqi Kurdistan expressed his solidarity with Gaza, himself, and all the Kurdish people. He mentioned learning a lot from the journalist Wael al-Dahdouh.

The Kurdish man recounted what the righteous man had told him, identifying him as a pious and righteous individual. He affirmed that he had seen the Messenger of Allah in the dream and gave Wael al-Dahdouh the glad tidings, saying, “Insha’Allah, they will attain the rank of martyrdom.”

During the phone conversation with Wael al-Dahdouh, the Kurdish man, while the latter was moved and tearful, conveyed condolences on behalf of all Kurdistan and prayed that Allah would grant them martyrdom. He expressed hope that they saw the Messenger of Allah in the highest paradise, saying, “May Allah reward you for this calamity.”

He continued to share the dream of the righteous man giving glad tidings to Wael al-Dahdouh, stating, “This is good news, and you deserve even more than this, by Allah Almighty. May Allah reward you.”

One of the viewers responded emotionally to the impactful video, saying, “Adversities test the strength of men. Your pure character, O Abu Hamza, has emerged, a hero living among us, and we do not realize it.”

He added, “May the sale be profitable. O Allah, accept our martyrs and pour out beautiful patience on the hearts of our loved ones. We are with you despite the geographic distance. May Allah support you, so do not lose hope. As long as this world exists, there is good for someone, and the Hereafter is the best home for the righteous.”

And another tweeter wrote, “We ask Allah that this vision is true and a glad tiding for him due to his patience. Let’s not forget that many people in Gaza have lost all their family members, not just Dahdouh.”

The martyrs of Wael al-Dahdouh’s family

It is worth mentioning that “Hamza al-Dahdouh,” the son of the Palestinian journalist Wael al-Dahdouh, was martyred on January 7, 2024, in an Israeli airstrike that targeted Arab journalists in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Prior to Hamza’s martyrdom, the wife of the Palestinian journalist Wael al-Dahdouh, along with his son, daughter, and grandson, were martyred when the Israeli occupation targeted the house they had sought refuge in at the Nusseirat camp in central Gaza.

The journalist Wael al-Dahdouh himself had previously been targeted and injured, while his colleague, Al Jazeera cameraman Samer Abu Qdah, was martyred.

After the martyrdom of his son Hamza, al-Dahdouh affirmed in his statements, “We continue despite the sorrow and loss, remaining committed to the path we chose voluntarily and watered with blood.”

Wael al-Dahdouh added that a person grieves and feels pain for the loss, stating, “How much more so when it is the eldest son?” He pointed out that his son Hamza meant everything to him, and these are “tears of sorrow and separation, not tears of fear and panic… We hope that Allah is pleased with us and counts us among the patient.”
