Watan-The British writer David Hearst warned in an article on the “Middle East Eye” website of a potential widespread popular explosion in four Arab countries, which may shake their failed systems in responding to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.
Hearst stated in the article, as reported by (Watan), that the policies of Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq have failed to spare Gaza from a catastrophic tragedy that has devastated the majority of the Palestinian sector, pushing 3.2 million of its inhabitants into famine, while tens of thousands were killed or injured, and many others remained under the rubble or displaced.
The article added that these four countries “may witness a massive wave of popular anger due to the reluctance of the Arab tyrants ruling them to stand against the occupation, which will explode in their faces,” according to the British writer.
Global Catastrophic Silence towards Gaza
The writer criticized the global silence towards the famine that could lead to the loss of lives, similar to the numbers of Palestinians who died in military operations due to Israeli airstrikes and brutal wars against Gaza.
More than 90% of Gaza’s population faces high levels of acute food insecurity, including 40% in emergency situations and more than 15% in catastrophic conditions.
David Hearst expected in his article that the silence of Arab regimes would lead to turning all residents of Gaza into a crisis stage, half of them into an emergency stage, and more than half a million people into a stage of catastrophe and severe food shortage.
The International Center for Food Security had warned that Gaza would have the highest percentage of people in the world facing acute food insecurity, which has already occurred.
While Arab countries ruled by tyrants fail to stop the crimes of the occupation, Western countries are doing more than just watching by supporting Israel militarily and economically to continue its brutal war.
Western Support for the Brutal Israeli War
The United States sent 230 cargo planes and 20 ships loaded with artillery shells, armored vehicles, and combat equipment, according to the Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth.”
David Hearst believes that Turkey is no better off in the failure that Arab countries have faced, as its flourishing trade with Israel has continued.
The British writer believes that the anger of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is directed personally against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, not against the Israeli occupation as a whole.
The Israeli occupation dropped the equivalent of 8 times what the United States dropped on Iraq during 6 years of war.
In 100 days, Israel bombed Gaza with nearly 30,000 bombs and shells.
Egypt Directly Responsible for Starving Gaza
The “Middle East Eye” report confirmed that Egypt is directly responsible for the current blockade imposed on Gaza.
The website referred to the protest organized by journalists in front of the Journalists Syndicate headquarters in Cairo.
The report stated that the slogans of these journalists were sincere when they said that Egypt is a partner in the blockade, and that the Zionists control Cairo, before demanding the opening of the Rafah crossing.
What increased the disgrace of the Egyptian regime, according to the report, is when the Israeli defense team defended itself against the charge of genocide in the International Court in The Hague.
The lawyers of the occupation accused Cairo of being responsible for preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, embarrassing Egypt, and at that time, Cairo issued a statement saying that Rafah is under Israeli control.
Dictator Like Sisi Cares Only about Power
Sisi did everything in his power to tighten the blockade on Gaza before the war by flooding the tunnels, in addition to the forced displacement of the Egyptian population in Rafah to establish a buffer zone on the border.
David Hearst said in his article, “If Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi is sincere in his word about not allowing Israel to ethnically cleanse Gaza, it is his duty to help the Palestinians survive on their torn lands.”
Therefore, Sisi must secure Gaza’s basic needs of food, water, and medicine, either through the crossing or by sea.
But it is unlikely that Sisi will extend any air, sea, or land bridge without the approval and green light of the occupation because a dictator like Sisi cares only about one thing, which is staying in power, according to Hearst.
Gulf States under the Volcano of Anger
The article cited a study conducted by the “Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies,” involving 8,000 Arabs in 16 countries. It stated that 92% of participants believe that the Palestinian issue is a concern for all Arabs.
Almost 90% of Arab participants considered the October 7th attack carried out by Hamas a “legitimate resistance operation.”
89% of participants rejected recognizing Israel, the highest percentage in the history of the center’s surveys. Only 13% of the Arabs surveyed believed that peace with Israel is still possible.
David Hearst concludes in his article that the anger of the Arab peoples is increasing in the hearts of Saudis, Egyptians, Jordanians, and Iraqis, and will eventually surface and explode against the tyrant regimes and the Israeli occupation.
