Watan-The Jordanian military expert Brigadier General Fayez al-Duweiri revealed the reasons that led the Israeli occupation army to reduce the number of military units conducting operations in Gaza, in the north, center, and south.
Brigadier General Fayez al-Duweiri stated on his X platform account, as reported by Watan, that the reduction of the Israeli occupation army’s military units in Gaza is due to the presence of surplus forces beyond the field’s needs. This resulted in significant losses in personnel and equipment.
He added that the percentage of losses reached more than 40% in some units, such as the Golan Brigade.

Furthermore, he continued that the third reason is “fatigue, exhaustion, and an increase in the percentage of those suffering from psychological illnesses.”
Regarding the fourth reason for withdrawing these forces, Brigadier General al-Duweiri said, “Preparing these forces and raising their combat readiness to send them to northern Palestine in preparation for a possible military operation against Hezbollah.”
On Sunday, January 28, 2024, the commander of Battalion 7107 in the Israeli occupation army announced its withdrawal from the Gaza Strip after months of participation in the fighting there. This came after the army executed several withdrawals and focused its forces in Khan Yunis in the southern part of the Strip.
This battalion is one of the combat engineering battalions affiliated with the reserve forces, and it participated in the fighting in the northern Gaza Strip.
The announcement of its withdrawal coincided with reports in Israeli media indicating the army’s readiness to reduce its forces in the northern part of the Strip.
About two weeks ago, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced the end of major military operations in the northern part of the Strip.
Earlier this month, the occupation army withdrew the 36th Division, one of the four military divisions deployed since last October in its war on Gaza.
Before that, the occupation army withdrew the Golan Brigade’s 13th Battalion in late December after suffering significant losses in its battles with the resistance in the Shuja’iya neighborhood east of Gaza City.
