Heartfelt Farewell: Al Jazeera Director Wael Al-Dahdouh Mourns the Passing of His Mother in Gaza
Wael Al-Dahdouh bids farewell to his mother with tearful words after her passing in Gaza

Watan-The director of Al Jazeera’s office in the Gaza Strip, Wael Al-Dahdouh, wrote moving words mourning his mother, who passed away in the region.

Wael Al-Dahdouh stated on his “Ex” platform account: “We only say what pleases our Lord, and to Him, we belong and to Him, we shall return. How difficult it is for sorrows, pains, and grief to overwhelm a person’s heart and life all at once. It is even harder when among these, the pains of loss engulf us from every side in a year of sorrow.”

He added, “Today, we lost a gate of Paradise and lost a heart that used to supplicate for us and for Muslims day and night. We lost my beloved mother, the epitome of a righteous, believing, kind, and affectionate woman. We lost someone who knew no hatred, envy, malice, or animosity, a path to her heart and who knew no gossip, a path to her tongue.”

Continuing, he said, “We lost an angel in human form. We lost someone who spent decades in fatigue, hardship, toil, sorrow, loss, and poverty with patience, faith, and acceptance. She filled her heart with all the meanings of goodness and beauty. We were deprived of the farewell gaze, the farewell kiss, and the touch that would sense her pure body due to distance, estrangement, and affliction.”

Al-Dahdouh added, “One of the heroines of Palestine struggled since her early years, fought, stood firm, and raised martyrs, wounded, and detainees in the occupation’s prisons. She gave birth to sixteen children for Palestine, eleven of whom, two out of five, were martyred in the fields of battle.”

He concluded, “May Allah have mercy on you, my mother, the comfort of my soul, the solace of my heart, the tranquility of my soul, the blessing of life, and its beauty.

I hope that you will be reunited with your loved ones from the family in the highest paradise of the Lord of the worlds, my beloved Hamza, and you are the beloved of Hamza, Mahmoud, and your sweetheart Shaim, and all the martyrs. As for us, we will endure and bear this loss and this life, with its sweetness and bitterness, by the will, strength, and kindness of Allah. Indeed, to Allah, we belong, and to Him, we shall return.”

It was reported that Wael Al-Dahdouh’s mother passed away in Gaza on Sunday evening due to a health crisis. This occurred at a time when Wael Al-Dahdouh was undergoing treatment in the Qatari capital, Doha, for a severe injury to his right hand sustained during his coverage of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
