Watan-Media sources said that the state of Qatar will hold a condolence ceremony for Mrs. Najat Al-Dahdouh, known as “Um Muhammad”, the mother of Qatari Al Jazeera network correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh. The ceremony will take place in the “Ain Khalid” area near Salwa Road on Wednesday at 1 p.m., according to local sources.

Wael Al-Dahdouh’s mother passed away on February 4th in Gaza due to a health crisis. She was of Palestinian origin, born and raised in Gaza after her marriage to Hamdan Ibrahim Al-Dahdouh.

The late Mrs. Al-Dahdouh had around 16 sons and daughters. Al Jazeera correspondent in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh, mourned his mother with poignant words on his official Instagram account.

Al-Dahdouh wrote: “We only say what pleases our Lord, and indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. How difficult it is for sorrows, pains, and grief to overwhelm one’s heart and life all at once… How difficult it is for the pains of loss to assail us from every side in a year of sorrow.”

Al-Dahdouh arrived in Qatar in mid-January to begin a treatment journey after being injured by occupation forces while performing his duties in the Gaza Strip.

On February 3rd, journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh posted a video after coming out of the operating room, asking his supporters from around the world to pray for him.
