the Israeli war in Gaza Strip

Watan-In a new development regarding the Israeli war on Gaza, President Joe Biden revealed that his administration is working on a prisoner exchange deal in Gaza that could lead to a period of calm lasting at least six weeks.

Biden’s remarks came during a press conference with Jordan’s King Abdullah II at the White House, stating that releasing detainees is a priority for the United States.

He added that a very large number of Palestinians, including innocent civilians and children, have been killed in Gaza. He affirmed that the United States is working to deliver aid to Gaza and seeks to open the Rafah and Kerem Abu Salem crossings.

Biden also addressed the potential Israeli military operation in the city of Rafah, stating that the operation should not proceed without a plan to ensure the safety of civilians. He emphasized his opposition to any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.

He reiterated, “Military operations in Rafah should not be initiated without a reliable plan for civilians’ safety.”

Biden‘s statements come as the Israeli occupation army continues its brutal war on the Gaza Strip. On the 130th day of the war, the occupation artillery targeted southern areas, especially in Khan Yunis.

Meanwhile, with a complete power outage at the Nasser Medical Complex, powerful explosions were heard in the border city of Rafah, which represents the last refuge for displaced persons, amid international and UN warnings of the catastrophic consequences of the expected ground invasion.

Humanitarian Crisis

Humanitarianly, the Gaza Strip suffers from deprivation of humanitarian aid and deliberate starvation operations carried out by the occupation against the population, especially in the northern Gaza Strip.

The ministry stated that the toll of the Israeli aggression has risen to 28,340 martyrs and 67,984 injuries since October 7th last year (as of Monday).
