Debunking the Myth: Analyzing the Alleged Saddam Hussein Interview in 2024
Saddam Hussein is alive and well in 2024

Watan-Social media users circulated a video clip showing an alleged interview with former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, claiming that he is still alive and well in the year 2024, raising questions about the validity of these claims.

Footage of an interview in Arabic language spread, with its publishers claiming that the former Iraqi president, who was executed by hanging, is still alive, citing his alleged statement: “Everyone thinks I was martyred but it’s all a lie and I was not executed.”

However, the video has been altered using deepfake techniques, and the original interview was conducted in 2003.

The users’ interaction with the video “Saddam Hussein Alive 2024”

Users quickly responded to the video, confirming it as fake and unreal, asserting that his return is unbelievable, while others pointed out that Saddam Hussein’s appearance has not changed despite all these years.

Some followers interacted with the “Saddam Hussein alive in 2024” video seriously, in line with a widespread belief among some that Saddam Hussein was not executed in 2003 but is still alive and hiding.

According to Watan’s observations, the clip is excerpted from an old interview conducted by Saddam Hussein on February 2, 2003, broadcast on the British Channel 4, where its details match those circulated in the video.

In that interview, Saddam Hussein was speaking about weapons of mass destruction and about Al-Qaeda and the allegations of his regime’s relationship with it.

It was clear in the edited video that the creator of this clip replaced the real voice with a synthesized one, suggesting that Saddam Hussein was speaking about still being alive and not being executed in 2003.
