Watan-An investigation supported by satellite images has revealed that an Israeli military aircraft entered Egyptian territory about 100 times since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7th until February 23rd.

The investigation, conducted by the “Arabi Post” website, stated that this aircraft penetrated 172 kilometers deep into Egypt from the Gaza border during one of its flights before returning to execute its mission above the Gaza Strip.

It was found that the Israeli aircraft is of the BOEING 707-300 model, one of the military aircraft operated by the Israeli army. The aircraft bears its own identification code: HEX:738A01. Flight tracking on “adsbexchange” shows that it flies for hours above the Gaza Strip and its waters, then enters Egypt before returning to the occupied territories.

This type of aircraft is capable of performing multiple tasks. According to the American company “All Clear”, which provides maintenance and operation services for military aircraft, Boeing 707 aircraft are used by armies for reconnaissance and refueling missions.

It is worth noting that in 2013, the Israeli army used a Boeing 707-300 aircraft to test a missile defense system, as reported by flightglobal.

Through tracking the flights of this Israeli aircraft, it has been observed to be highly active since October 7th. In the early days of the war, the aircraft flew over Gaza for reconnaissance purposes before extending its flights into Egyptian territory later on.

The beginning of flights over Egyptian waters

The aircraft began flying over Egyptian waters on October 10th, near the Rafah beach. Its first entry into Egyptian mainland airspace was on October 26th.

The aircraft flew over Egyptian waters and land together 38 times since October until February 23rd. It flew over Egyptian territorial waters alone 60 times, making a total of 98 flights over Egyptian waters and land since the start of the war on Gaza.

The analysis showed that during the period from April 7th to October 7th, the aircraft did not fly within Egyptian territory, only approaching the Egyptian border in a flight in September.

In its latest flight over Egypt, the analysis tracked the aircraft on Friday, February 23rd, over the waters off the coast of Rafah and over the land in the buffer zone between Sinai and the Gaza Strip.

The aircraft also flew on February 22nd over the security zone that Egypt started constructing on February 9th, about 4 kilometers from the Gaza border.

At times, the Israeli military aircraft penetrated deep into Egyptian territory. On November 9th, 2023, the Israeli military aircraft reached a depth of 172 kilometers into Egypt, flying along the border between the Ismailia and Port Said governorates before returning to the Gaza Strip.

The analysis also recorded the arrival of the Israeli military aircraft on January 8th to a depth of 135 kilometers inside Egyptian territory, flying near the “Bir Gifgafa” base south of Arish, following intensive flights over the skies of the Gaza Strip.

On January 13th, the military aircraft also flew over Egyptian land to a depth of about 71 kilometers, and tracking showed that it flew over El Arish International Airport twice, back and forth.

Noteworthy flights within Egypt

Notable flights within Egypt also included its arrival on February 3rd near the city of Nakhl in southern Sinai. The point reached by the aircraft was about 70 kilometers away from the Israeli occupation border and about 130 kilometers away from the beach near Arish.

The analysis of the data of the Israeli military aircraft’s flights over Egypt showed the highest rate of entry into Egyptian territory in January, coinciding with the escalation of fighting in the Khan Yunis area, which the aircraft flew over intensively during this period.

The analysis also tracked the entry of an unknown aircraft into Egyptian territory on the morning of Friday, February 23rd, bearing the code “DE6003”.

The aircraft flew intensively over the Gaza Strip, especially over the skies of Khan Yunis, before heading towards Egyptian territory and flying over El Arish Airport.

Through tracking the aircraft on aircraft tracking websites, it was observed that this unknown aircraft concealed its information before disappearing and ceasing to be tracked.

According to the investigation, there is no Egyptian or Israeli clarification regarding allowing this Israeli military aircraft to enter Egyptian territory and allowing it to penetrate more than 170 kilometers deep into Egypt.
