Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza: Failed Aid Drop Results in Tragedy

Watan-In an incident reflecting the extent of collapse and misery in the Gaza Strip, two Palestinians were martyred and others were injured due to a failed aid drop on citizens who were awaiting it northwest of Gaza City.

Video footage showed aircraft dropping aid supplies on citizens in the Gaza Strip, specifically in the northwest of Gaza City, north of the Strip.

Many countries, particularly Arab ones, have carried out air drops of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The pace of this operation increased following the massacre of Al-Nabulsi roundabout on Rashid Street, after occupation forces opened fire on hundreds of Palestinians whose ultimate hope was to receive humanitarian aid.

Ineffective aid

However, relief workers have confirmed that the aerial aid drop operation is ineffective in delivering aid to the population, and that the shipments currently being transported are insufficient to meet the needs of over two million people besieged in Gaza.

The quantity of humanitarian aid reaching by trucks has significantly decreased, while the besieged population in the Strip faces a serious shortage of food, water, and medicine.

Aerial drops: a futile display and propaganda

The Gaza Government Media Office earlier confirmed that the aerial aid drop operations and the blindness to allow aid through land crossings come in the context of bypassing root solutions to the problem by adopting futile and propagandistic methods.

It stressed that the aerial aid drops are “a ploy of reality, field, and truth, and are in line with the occupation’s policy of promoting starvation, buying time for the occupation, and prolonging famine to inflict the greatest possible harm on people and citizens.”
