John Alfred Tinniswood was born in Liverpool, England in 1912, the same year the Titanic sank, considering pure luck as the secret behind his long life.
He said in statements to the Guinness World Records: “You’ll live long or short, and you can’t do much about it.”
Tinniswood now lives in a care home after becoming the oldest living person in the United Kingdom in 2020, saying he “doesn’t feel bothered to be in the care home.”
John used to receive an annual birthday card from the late Queen Elizabeth until he turned 100 in 2012, who was 14 years younger than him.
Although he eats fish for dinner every Friday at the care home, he confirmed that he “doesn’t have any specific diet.”
John Tinniswood is considered the oldest surviving veteran in the world after participating in World War II and experiencing the first one.
In 1986, his wife Blodwen passed away after forty years of marriage.
It’s worth mentioning that the oldest living person on Earth is Spanish woman Maria Morera, who recently celebrated her 117th birthday.
