Injustice Prevails: The Tragic Saga of Walid Duqqa’s Imprisonment
Watan-A poignant video clip of the child Milad, daughter of the martyr prisoner Walid Duqqa, has been circulating. Milad was born through smuggled sperm, a means utilized by Palestinian prisoners for procreation.
In the video, the child is seen chanting, “Freedom… freedom for our prisoners… freedom, freedom for our prisoners.”
When asked whom she is chanting for, the child replied, “For Baba” (father), then repeated the chant, “Freedom for our prisoners.”

The Palestinian prisoner Walid Duqqa passed away at the age of 62 after 38 years in Israeli prisons, succumbing to cancer.
The Prisoners’ Affairs Commission and the Prisoners’ Club announced in a statement the death of Duqqa (62 years old) inside “Assaf Harofeh” hospital due to deliberate medical negligence and slow killing policies pursued by the Israeli prison administration against sick prisoners.

The deteriorating health condition of the prisoner Walid Duqqa before his martyrdom
The health condition of the prisoner Walid Duqqa had deteriorated since March of last year, three months before his previous release date, due to severe pneumonia and acute kidney failure. He was also diagnosed with myelofibrosis on December 18, 2022, a rare cancer affecting bone marrow.
An Israeli court had refused to release him despite his deteriorating health condition in November last year.
Israel currently detains at least 9,100 Palestinian prisoners, and their conditions have worsened since the start of the destructive war on the Gaza Strip on October 7th last year.
