Tragic Incident: Palestinian Youth Martyred in Bethlehem Bakery Amid Israeli Occupation
Watan-A video documented the martyrdom of a Palestinian youth named Hazem Nabil Danna (27 years old) in the town of Husan in the city of Bethlehem.
This came after he inhaled tear gas and was detained by Israeli occupation forces inside the bakery where he worked.

Surveillance camera recordings inside the bakery showed the final moments of the young man Hazem, as he struggled to breathe due to the high temperature near the bakery oven, lack of ventilation, and oxygen deficiency.
Israeli occupation forces had heavily deployed tear gas near the bakery, then closed it on the Palestinian youth, coinciding with the imposition of a curfew in the town of Husan for two days.
Following the incident, Israeli occupation forces temporarily withdrew from the town, anticipating any potential escalation from the enraged locals.

Eyewitness Account
This comes as an eyewitness narrates his testimony of what happened: “We didn’t know that Hazem was still inside the shop, but in the morning I noticed his vehicle next to the shop, and I tried knocking on the door without receiving a response from him, until his brother came and opened the door, and we found him dead on the ground.”
He added: “The occupation soldiers were still stationed near the bakery, and some female soldiers attempted to examine Hazem, only to find out that he had been deceased for several hours.”
Continued Escalation in the West Bank
It is worth noting that since October 7th last year (the start of the war on Gaza), cities and towns in the West Bank have witnessed unprecedented escalation.
This manifested in intensified arrest campaigns and raid operations that resulted in confrontations with Palestinians, leaving 450 martyrs and around 4750 wounded, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
