Israeli Media’s Attack on Al Jazeera Journalist Khadija Ben Qana: Coverage of Palestinian Territories Criticized
Watan-Israeli media continued its attack on Algerian journalist Khadija Ben Qana, a presenter on Al Jazeera, due to her coverage of the situation in Palestinian territories, particularly in the occupied city of Jerusalem, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Channel “11” in Hebrew published a report accusing Khadija Ben Qana of “supporting terrorism and being anti-Semitic” because of her support for the Palestinian cause.
The report by the Israeli channel accused Ben Qana of lacking credibility in reporting news due to what it described as bias towards the Palestinian side in the channel where she works.
The report stated that Ben Qana arrived in Jerusalem via Jordan and indicated that her media coverage was biased and supportive of the Palestinian narrative.
The channel expressed astonishment at the arrival of the Algerian presenter to cover events around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, showcasing several televised interviews supporting the Palestinian cause.

The report criticized her meetings with Palestinian figures opposed to the occupation, such as the Imam of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Akrama Sabri.
The report alleged that the occupation facilitates the entry of Palestinians into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, citing video clips of the Algerian journalist praying inside it during her visit to the occupied city of Jerusalem, while in reality, the occupation imposes strict restrictions, particularly intensified during Ramadan, on Palestinians’ access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque since the start of the aggression in October of the previous year.
In recent days, Khadija Ben Qana has faced a widespread campaign on various platforms for her presence in Jerusalem, particularly around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and for broadcasting special news segments for Al Jazeera regarding the harassment by the Israeli occupation.
The presence of the media delegation from Al Jazeera, led by presenter Khadija Ben Qana, comes in the context of highlighting the situation in occupied Jerusalem, covering events, and conveying a picture to Arab viewers of the policies of Judaization and Israeli attempts to erase the symbolic landmarks of Jerusalem.
It is known that Al Jazeera, which has full licensing in the occupied Palestinian territories and has a correspondent in Tel Aviv, allows its employees to move freely in the occupied territories and visit their sacred places, such as the Al-Aqsa Mosque, advantages that apply to journalists specifically.
This contradicts the lies of the Hebrew channels that try to exploit the facilitation of the occupation for journalists as claims contradicted by the fact that the occupation authorities commit brutal violations against Palestinians and settlers act with impunity towards them without any accountability.
