Egyptian Red Crescent Prepares for Aid Entry into Gaza Ahead of Trump Visit

Rafah Border Readied for Humanitarian Convoys as Aid Spoils in Heat During 75-Day Blockade.

Watan-A source from the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai said the organization received instructions to prepare for the re-entry of aid into the Gaza Strip within the coming hours, coinciding with U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to the region.

The source told Al-Quds Al-Arabi that the Red Crescent had notified drivers of aid trucks stationed in front of the Rafah border crossing to be ready to move at any moment, pending the official announcement of renewed aid flow.

Ambulances are also stationed around the crossing, awaiting the arrival of a new batch of injured and sick civilians from Gaza after nearly 75 days of halted evacuations.

The source also noted that large quantities of food and medical supplies have been spoiled due to exposure to heat, dust, and harsh weather conditions in the Sinai Peninsula.

75 Days of Blockade: Aid and Medical Evacuations from Gaza Remain Frozen Pending Hostage Deal

For the 75th consecutive day, Israeli forces have maintained a complete closure of all Gaza crossings to humanitarian aid and have prevented, for the 56th day, the evacuation of wounded and ill Palestinians for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.

Patient evacuations from Gaza were suspended after 46 batches of evacuees were allowed out, totaling 1,705 patients and wounded individuals accompanied by 2,500 relatives, many of whom were receiving treatment in hospitals across Egypt, including in North Sinai.

UNRWA stated that it has thousands of aid trucks ready to enter Gaza and that its teams are prepared to expand delivery operations. A spokesperson for the agency stressed that it would be extremely difficult to distribute aid in Gaza without UNRWA’s coordination.

Israeli media reported that the Israeli army will permit aid to enter Gaza following the release of dual-national hostage Aidan Alexander.
