Border Incident: Jordan Arrests Four Israelis, Sparks Conflicting Explanations

Watan-The Jordanian authorities announced the arrest of four Israelis after they crossed the border strip, revealing that the infiltrators were subsequently returned.

A responsible military source in the general command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stated that border guard forces apprehended four Israelis after they crossed the border strip.

The source added that investigations revealed that the infiltrators mistakenly crossed the border strip from the west to the east and were not soldiers, as previously circulated. They were returned through official channels and routes.

According to the source’s statements, the general command of the armed forces urged citizens not to spread rumors on social media and to obtain information from official sources.

Conflicting Israeli Confirmation

In turn, Israeli Channel 14 stated that the Jordanian army arrested four Israelis, including soldiers, after they accidentally crossed the border. They were later released following the intervention of Israeli political authorities.

It was added that the four Israelis entered the Aqaba region accidentally during a trip on an ATV vehicle, were arrested, and after the intervention of political officials, they were released late at night and returned to Israel.

It was noted that, thanks to the quick intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consulate, and Jordan’s desire not to escalate the situation, the four youths were released at 1 a.m. after it was determined that they had crossed the border unintentionally.
