Gaza Ceasefire: Ongoing Starvation Amid Diplomatic Efforts to Finalize the Agreement

UN Warns of Severe Humanitarian Consequences as Israel Cuts Electricity and Halts Fuel Shipments to the Besieged Enclave.

Watan-The Israeli occupation government continues to block humanitarian aid from entering the devastated Gaza Strip as part of its pressure tactics against the resistance. It also persists in delaying the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement while escalating its violations.

On Monday, the United Nations warned of serious consequences for Gaza’s civilian population after Israel cut off electricity to the war-ravaged enclave. The strip has already been deprived of fuel shipments for over a week. A spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights told AFP that Israel’s decision is “deeply concerning.” He added, “Without electricity and with fuel shipments halted, the last remaining desalination plants, health facilities, and bakeries are at risk of shutting down, with severe consequences for civilians.”

Meanwhile, Reuters reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed Gaza’s reconstruction on Monday night. The report added that Rubio “reaffirmed Washington’s firm stance that any resolution for Gaza must not involve a role for Hamas.”
