White House Confirms King Abdullah’s Rejection of Trump’s Palestinian Relocation Plan

The U.S. president pushes for the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza, but Jordan’s King Abdullah firmly rejects the proposal, reaffirming Arab opposition to forced displacement.

Watan-The White House said on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump believes it would be much better for the Palestinians to be relocated from the Gaza Strip, acknowledging that King Abdullah II of Jordan rejected the plan during talks held between them on Friday.

White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt said, “The king prefers that the Palestinians remain where they are,” adding, “But the president feels it would be much better and more dignified if those Palestinians could be moved to safer areas.”

Trump’s Message to the Jordanians

In a notable development, President Donald Trump sent a video message to the Jordanian people, saying: “You are truly wonderful people with incredible intelligence and energy… and you have a king who is a great man… he is one of the truly great leaders in the world.”

On Tuesday, the Jordanian king stated that he emphasized his country’s firm stance against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank during his meeting with the U.S. president in Washington.

He added in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “I reaffirmed Jordan’s firm position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. This is the unified Arab position. The priority for everyone should be the reconstruction of Gaza without displacing its people, and addressing the difficult humanitarian situation in the region.”
