Watan-A video has been circulated showing what was said to be violent behavior by Egyptian soldiers towards a Palestinian child who crossed the border fence between Egypt and Gaza.
The video, which “Watan” couldn’t verify its authenticity, showed Egyptian soldiers viciously assaulting the Palestinian child, while voices were heard demanding the child to be left alone and the assault to stop.
Widespread Anger
The circulated video sparked widespread anger among activists, analysts, and journalists on social media platforms.
Palestinian writer Radwan Al-Akhras said: “What a painful and unfortunate scene… May God be our witness… Record, O history… How Gaza was wronged and abandoned!!!”
Saudi activist Omar bin Abdulaziz commented: “A Palestinian tried to escape from the bombing in Rafah, but Sisi’s army met him with beating, kicking, and dragging.”
Egyptian journalist Osama Gawish wrote a lengthy comment, saying: “The scene of shame and the manufacture of pigs in an infamous era… A group of quasi-humans gathered in the media production barn, bought by the infamous regime of Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, fed and watered them, drowned them in the mud like pigs, then unleashed them on the Egyptian people on a despicable mission under the broad title of pig manufacturing.”

He added: “In the era of pig manufacturing, the Egyptian soldier does not know the enemy from the friend, besieges Gaza, closes the crossing, prevents aid, watches the Israeli flag on a tank violating Egyptian sovereignty without moving, then rains blows, kicks, and drags on a Palestinian youth who tried to save his life from bombing, killing, and starvation, crossing into Egypt, the land of refuge, and wishing he never crossed, as the pig manufacturing has brought its food under Sisi’s rule.”
He continued: “We have nothing to do with Palestine, and Gaza does not deserve a single drop of Egyptian soldier’s sweat for it. This is what they said, and this is what the residents of the barn wanted to create a pig that is not moved by religious brotherhood, neighborly rights, Arab values, or defense of sanctities.”
Gawish said: “Israel did not violate the peace treaty, did not control the Philadelphia Axis, and did not cross the red line. This is what they said, and this is what the residents of the barn wanted to create a pig that does not care about his homeland, does not question the role of his army, and does not fear for his national security.”
He added: “Israeli tanks move within the Philadelphia Axis, waving the flag just meters away from the Egyptian border, the occupation channels broadcast footage focusing on the Egyptian Rafah gate, so the residents of the barn calm your fears, alleviate your pain, they don’t care about homeland, status, or borders, they want to create a silent, submissive pig drowning in the quagmire of its daily problems, trusting the infamous, thick-skinned, unmoving, even if Israel is just steps away from the Egyptian capital Cairo, but he moves with anger if a single Palestinian crosses into the Egyptian border.”

He concluded: “Pig manufacturing is a corrupt industry mastered by the Sisi regime and made its main center in the media production barn until it became a title for a despicable and debased era that every free Egyptian disowns who has not yet drowned in the pig’s quagmire.”
Saudi journalist Turki Al-Shalhoub commented: “Egyptian soldiers assault a Palestinian boy at the borders with Rafah… The cowards, the Israeli army roams and patrols on their borders, and they fear to respond, relying on a small boy.”
