Al-Qassam Brigades Target Tel Aviv: First Rocket Strike in Months Amid Israeli Offensive
As Israel escalates its military operations in Gaza, Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades fire rockets at Tel Aviv, signaling continued resistance despite months of intense Israeli bombardment.
Watan-The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced today (Thursday) that they had launched rockets at Tel Aviv for the first time in months. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army confirmed that it had detected the launch of three rockets from southern Gaza toward the Greater Tel Aviv area.
In a brief statement, Al-Qassam Brigades declared that they had “targeted Tel Aviv with a rocket barrage in response to the Zionist massacres against civilians.”
Al-Qassam’s military spokesperson, Abu Ubaida, stated:”Today, Yemeni missiles intersected with Gaza’s rockets in the skies over Tel Aviv, reaffirming that Gaza is not alone and that behind it stand free men of the nation who will never surrender it to its arrogant enemies.”
In a series of short statements, Abu Ubaida also saluted Yemen’s resistance, saying:”We send our greetings to our sincere brothers in Yemen for their honorable stance and direct support for their people in Gaza, despite the heavy price they are paying for their loyalty to Al-Aqsa and Palestine.”
He further called on all free people of the Arab and Muslim world to join the battle for Al-Aqsa and continue their support for Gaza, aiming to break the Zionist enemy’s power and force it to end its aggression.

Tel Aviv Attack Coincides with Israel’s Ground Offensive in Northern Gaza
The attack on Tel Aviv came as the Israeli army announced the launch of a new ground military operation in northern Gaza, along with continued airstrikes across the enclave since resuming its aggression early Tuesday morning.
Israeli air raid sirens were triggered today (Thursday) in Greater Tel Aviv, and the Israeli military initially reported sirens sounding “in several areas in central Israel following rocket fire from Gaza.” Later, they confirmed that three rockets had been fired from southern Gaza toward the Greater Tel Aviv area—one intercepted and two landing in open areas.
The last time Al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on Tel Aviv was on October 7, 2024.

Flight Disruptions and Israeli Assessments
According to Israel’s Channel 12, the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv temporarily halted flight takeoffs and landings during the air raid sirens. The channel also reported that rocket debris fell in Rishon LeZion, with no injuries reported.
Israeli military analysts estimate that despite the heavy strikes that severely damaged Hamas’ military infrastructure and missile capabilities, the group still possesses a limited number of rockets, which it may continue to use strategically.
